An indoor pet festival is being held at Highcliffe Castle on Sunday from 10.30am to 4pm. Admission costs £1 per person for the event which will feature over 20 stalls and light-hearted dog competitions for families to enjoy. For more information, go to Highcliffecastle.co.uk or call 01425 278807.

Enjoy springtime with all your senses at RSPB’s Arne nature reserve near Wareham, which is celebrating the season with the launch of the ‘Sounds of Spring’ walks this month. The walks will be taking place on April 10, 17 and 24 and start at 7am and will finish around 9am. The walk is £6 for RSPB members or £8 for non-members, £2 for children, which doesn’t include breakfast. Book ahead on 01929 553360.

The Big Den Build takes place on Brownsea Island on Saturday. Families can learn how to build a shelter with the help of the National Trust rangers. Sessions take place from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm.  The recommended age for participants is five and over and places must be booked in advance. Cost is £2 per person as well as standard boat fare and admission charges. The Parkstone Gardeners’ Society flower and produce show takes place at on Saturday, April 9 at St Aldhelm’s Parish Centre Hall, Poole Road, Branksome, from 2pm to 5pm.

A free admission coffee morning in aid of the RNLI is being held at Highcliffe Methodist Church Hall on Saturday. The event runs from 10am to 12.30pm at the hall on Lymington Road with a host of items for sale including home-made cakes, jewellery, books, jigsaws and bric-a-brac.

Ringwood French Market and Friends will take place on Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9 in the High Street. Traders from across the Channel will sell their wares from 9am until 5pm on both days.

Bransgore Horticultural Society Spring Show takes place at the Village Hall in Burley Road, Bransgore, from 2pm on Saturday. Classes for flowers, floral art, cookery, craft, photography and art. For a schedule call Tony on 01425 674329.

A rummage bric-a-brac and book sale will take place at Holdenhurst Village hall on Saturday from 10am until 2pm. Proceeds will go towards the hall fund.

A scale model exhibition is being held at Parkstone Grammar School on Sopers Lane on Saturday. There will be more than 100 tables with displays including aviation, military, transport, marine and sci-fi models from 10am to 4pm. It has been organised by The Poole Vikings Model Club and The International Plastic Modeller's Society Dorset Branch. Admission is £3 for adults and £1.50 per child.
