Get ready Dorset, a brand new foam fun run is coming to Poole in May.

Foam Fest will see runners dodge, dive and climb their way through a 3km course as they battle inflatable obstacles, foam pits and cannons.

The event, which will raise funds for the children’s hospices Naomi House & Jacksplace, takes place at Baiter Park on Sunday, May 8.

Places are limited with just 1,500 spaces available and at the start of the month more than 150 people signed up in less than a week.

Bournemouth Echo:

The start will be staggered with runners setting off at four different times; 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm.

Participants will be able to choose their preferred start time when they sign-up.

Foam Fest is open to everyone 12 years and over and entry costs £20 in advance, with runners asked to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship.

Bournemouth Echo:

All money raised from the event will go towards providing 24-hour care and support for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across Dorset and the south.

The charity staged the first Foam Fest in Portsmouth last year and the event sold out in a matter of weeks, raising more than £30,000.

Bournemouth Echo:

Keith Wilson, Senior Communications Officer at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said: “This has to be one of the most popular events we have ever staged and we are delighted that our many supporters in Dorset will be able to take part in this very special event.

"The reaction to Foam Fest in Portsmouth was huge, and I would urge anybody hoping to take part in the Baiter Park event to secure their place soon.”

The event follows on from last year's hugely successful Rainbow Run which saw more than 1,800 people pelted with bucket loads of multi-coloured paint as they made their way around a 3km course.

Runners helped to raise more than £65,000 for the hospice.
