ITV news anchor and former Daily Echo journalist Mark Austin, pictured, will speak at a journalism conference at Bournemouth’s Print Room.

He will deliver an after-dinner speech at the Journalism Skills Conference, organised by the National Council for the Training of Journalists, on November 27.

He will also present the 2013 Awards for Excellence in Journalism to students, trainees and heads of journalism from the top-performing NCTJ-accredited journalism courses.

The Print Room is the former press hall of the Daily Echo, where Mark began his career as a trainee reporter in 1976.

He went on to work in news and sport in the BBC, before embarking on a distinguished career at ITN.

He is now co-presenter of ITV’s News at Ten.
