The BUCS league currently stands with Bournemouth at the top and Plymouth in 2nd. The league cup final is tomorrow against Plymouth.

The team need to win or lose by a difference of 12 goals or less to win the league.

The BU team beat Plymouth on the 25th February 27-15. Hazel Daglish in her final year of forensic science, and also the teams President stated this as her highlight so far: “It was amazing to see how well everyone played and I really enjoyed having a competitive game.

“I am proud that I can say we are unbeaten this season. This is because the girls have worked very hard and put a lot of effort into making sure they play their best. I am really proud of everyone’s continuous dedication and commitment to the team.”

The lacrosse girls have also made it to the cup final which is taking place next week in Exeter, again, against Plymouth, the teams biggest competition.

Hazel says: “I am quite anxious about our next upcoming games although I have every faith that we can win them as the team have improved so much throughout the year. As the team have worked so hard all year it would be extremely disappointing not to win therefore the pressure is on however as a team I feel we are confident in our ability.”

The team is close knit which Hazel attributes to their success, “I really enjoy the social aspect of lacrosse. We are all good friends on the team and when you train as often as we do it’s a really important factor.”

The league final game starts at 4pm tomorrow at Plymouth University.
