Last week (Wednesday 4th Feb) Bournemouth University students faced the cold weather and ventured over to Slades Farm in a volunteering project organised by SUBU Volunteering.
Green-fingered students got involved in planting, digging, pruning and weeding the community garden just over the road from Bournemouth University. Each student had their own individual task as they dug the soil to prepare for spring, as well as tidying the vegetable patches and plant areas.
Jade Chant, project leader, said “everyone seemed happy and relaxed as they all got to know each other. Overall it was a successful day and some said they would come back again in the future!"
The Slades Farm project allows students to learn more about sustainable living, whilst helping out in the local community. SUBU Volunteering run projects throughout the academic year, providing students with many opportunities to volunteer in Bournemouth.
