We may only be in the second full week of 2015, but already The Old Fire Station has booked several huge artists to play at the venue in the first few months of this year.

The Old Fire Station is the Students’ Union at Bournemouth University nightclub and music venue, but all forthcoming gigs will be open for the public to enjoy.

Open since 1995, The Old Fire Station has contributed millions of pounds to the local economy with thousands of students and members of the public visiting the venue each year.

The venue has long been a supporter of the local music scene, with many of the South Coast’s biggest artists getting their big break at The Old Fire Station.

Previously welcoming the likes of Ed Sheeran and Pendulum through the door, the venue will soon be seeing the likes of singer songwriter Lucy Rose (27th March) and the internationally renowned Lower than Atlantis (21st April) take to the stage.

Alan Dove is the Commercial Manager at SUBU and is delighted with the Old Fire Station’s spring line-up.

“We have a particularly exciting spring programme including two acts from the BBC Sound of 2015 list as well as a unique pre Barbican warm-up date for Square Pusher. We can’t wait!”

Square Pusher (17th March) is known for his high-energy techno, drum and base and electronic sounds while the BBC Sound of 2015 list, which Alan mentioned, is recognised as giving an indication of which musical artists will be popular in the forthcoming year.

Previous winners include Jessie J and Ellie Goulding, and from that list the Old Fire Station will be welcoming both Sunset Sons (13th March) and Wolf Alice (8th April), with both acts set to have a huge 2015.

DJ Hannah Wants kicks off The Old Fire Station’s spring season on 14th February.
