STANLEY Green Infant Academy has been praised for its “uncompromising drive for excellence” following a visit from Ofsted inspectors.

The leadership team at the Poole school was commended for maintaining the good quality of education since the last inspection was carried out in 2012.

The school, based in Stanley Green Road in Oakdale, was examined by Her Majesty’s Inspector Jen Southall who highlighted its core values of “creativity, independence, emotional intelligence, collaboration and community.”

She told head teacher Angela Malanczuk: “You continue to build upon the many strengths of the school and have been successful in tackling those areas that were identified as needing further improvement at the last inspection.”

She highlighted the successful way in which the school works in the community with parents and carers and said: “They are appreciative of the hard work and dedication you and your team provide.”

She also described how happy the children are at the school and added: “They feel safe because of ‘the kind staff who look after us’. Pupils understand the difference between right and wrong.

“They spoke positively about behaviour in school and how any incidents of poor behaviour or bullying are quickly dealt with.

“They are understanding and considerate of the needs of others. Pupils, even the very youngest, demonstrate tolerance for those few pupils who find it more challenging to conform to school rules.”

Suggestions for leaders and governors include addressing any remaining differences between the attainment and progress of boys and disadvantaged pupils.

Mrs Malanczuk said she is delighted with the report and added: “It is a glowing reflection of the support given by everyone connected with the school and who show a huge commitment in helping to make Stanley Green the best school it can be.

“The inspection has confirmed that children receive a great education at Stanley Green.

“However, we are not complacent and will strive to not only maintain this high standard but to build on it and improve further.”
