Dorset students were celebrating yesterday as they collected their GCSE results.

Identical twins Meggn and Maggy Millar took identical GCSEs and got incredible results including 10 A*s, eight As and five Bs between them.

Meggn and Maggy, from St Peter’s Catholic School, in Bournemouth, will now take identical A levels to fulfil their dreams of becoming dance teachers.

The twins, 16, were over-the-moon with their results with both of them getting A*s in drama, PE, religious studies and geography.

Maggy said: “We are so similar and we do everything together.

“Meggn broke her leg three times so she had a lot more time to revise the academic subjects whereas my dance improved!

“We studied together though and helped each other out a lot to bump each other up on the subjects we found harder!”

Meggn said: “We were both holding hands collecting our results this morning - the pressure is on being twins!”

One teenager proved he is a cut above the rest after he was awarded a GCSE supergrade for his exam efforts.

Alan Philip from St Peter’s Catholic School, Bournemouth, was ‘speechless’ to find he got 11A*s and one A^ - known as an A hat and the equivalent of an A** in further maths.

International swimmer and Talbot Heath pupil, Harriet Perfect, achieved eight GCSEs, alongside her intensive training and Olympic trials earlier this year.

She is currently ranked third in the country for 200m backstroke and recently qualified for the European championships.

Other national sportswomen who celebrated GCSE glory were national footballer Ella Pusey, who attained nine GCSEs, alongside her classmate and tennis ace, Emilia Smythe, who represented the UK in tennis recently.

At Bournemouth School there were some stunning individual performances including Timothy Georges who achieved A* in all 13.5 subjects he studied.

Jed Avissar, Brandon Boontam, Neeraj Dinya, Josh Halderthay, Alexander Morelli-Batters, James Wakefield, Andre Wong, Jack Farrier-Ledden and Joshua Shuttleworth achieved 10 or more A* grades.

James Alder, Glenn Balfour, Issac Beaglehole, Henry Bramwell-Reeks, James Cheeseman, Alex Dijkhuizen-Sands, Max Edwards, Eden Gray, Oliver Hioco, Alex Hudson, Ben Jones, Jun Se Kim, Matt Lane, Matt Lewis, Connor Miles, Samuel Nicholas, Tom Patmore, Alex Paul-Ajuwape, William Prendergast and Dominic Williams achieved 12 or more A* or A grades.
