TEN young siblings have been denied places at the new St Peter’s Primary in Bournemouth.
Parents claim a community has been ripped apart by the decision to allocate four-year-olds places at schools as far away as West Howe and Kinson.
The school, in Holdenhurst Avenue, Boscombe East, has only been open since September 2014 and Emma Alldridge was one of the first parents to send her child there.
Six-year-old Leela is now in Year 1 but Emma has learned that four-year-old Josiah will not be joining her and has instead been allocated a place at Kingsleigh Primary, more than five miles away.
“We put our faith in this school from the beginning and feel very let down by this decision” said Emma. “In the first year they were more than happy to accept non-Catholics to fill up the spaces”
The school’s admission policy makes it clear that Baptised Catholic children have priority over children from other faiths or from non-faith families.
