A FASCINATING presentation from children’s author David Lawrence Jones has inspired young readers at a Bournemouth primary school.
The writer of the popular Bradley Baker adventure series dropped in to Christ the King in West Howe to boost literacy lessons and his visit was a huge success.
In Bradley Baker books, the young hero begins each adventure in the bath before dropping down the plughole into a different world.
And young pupils at Christ the King were delighted he brought along a bath, complete with lights and smoke effects, to bring his stories to life.
Pupils from years one to five were enthralled by his talk, in which he explained how he was a reluctant reader as a child.
Assistant head teacher and literacy leader Gerry Christopher said: “We wanted to promote attitudes to reading and our children have definitely been inspired. He really got the children involved with his talk, using props and acting. They loved every minute of it.”
