THE entire Class of 2015 from Bournemouth and Poole College’s Aviation Operation course has been snapped up by the same company.

Airline support service company Swissport was so impressed with the seven young women taking the Level-2 Diploma that it offered them all jobs at its expanding Bournemouth Airport operation.

Jubilant AO course team leader Judith Grandjean said: “Our tutors work directly with Swissport to ensure that the curriculum and course content meets any new requirements of the industry. That way, students are provided with the most relevant and up-to-date knowledge so that they are ready to take on the challenge as soon as they complete the course. The fact that all seven young women are walking into jobs with Swissport is a wonderful testament for the course and a tribute to the relationship we have nurtured with Swissport.”

Swissport's station manager for Bournemouth, John Barber, said: “Our relationship with the College has been excellent. We wish the girls every success for a long and rewarding career with Swissport.”

Emily Ross, of Wimborne, said: "We have really enjoyed all aspects of this course especially how we all managed to get a job at the end. One of the best things that we have done is taking part in work experience at Bournemouth Airport where we got to see behind the scenes of what our job role will involve.”

Swissport says it has seen a 30 per cent expansion in its business at Bournemouth Airport.
