YOUNG people across Poole and Bournemouth will be able to find out more about the options available to them at an event next week.

Your Future – Your Choice will take place at Lighthouse in Poole from 3pm until 8pm on Thursday, February 5 and will present a host of options related to training, careers and education.

Young people and their parents or carers who visit the free event will be able to take advantage of advice on the options available after GCSEs, from training and apprenticeships to further study or entering the world of work.

Information about a wide variety of qualifications will also be available, as well as advice on where these could lead in a future career.

Representatives from schools, colleges and training providers will all be on hand to help visitors explore the options available to them. Local employers will also be in attendance.

Cllr Janet Walton, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Children, Young People and Families, Borough of Poole, said: “We’re pleased to be able to support the young people of Poole with this new event.

“There are so many options available to explore, and some very interesting alternatives available to those who would prefer not to go to university but instead would like to explore the opportunities for learning and earning.

“Our young people are of great importance to us, and we look forward to helping them make the best choice for their future.”

The event is free and open to everyone.
