LINWOOD School in Winton has improved its outdoor play area and bought some Springers with a donation from JPMorgan.
“We have been working on this project for a while and we have now been able to replace the old tarmac surface with an all-weather base which is much safer and is also much more wheelchair friendly,” said Sue James, assistant head teacher.
“The playground is primarily used by our nursery and reception classes but the older children do get to play in here as well. The area is used by teachers for enrichment purposes and the children are able to use various items to help improve their core shapes.”
As well as the Springers, a see saw, house and other items are in the play area as well as letters, numbers and musical apparatus which all help towards learning and education.
Caroline Donnell, from the JPMorgan Community Relations Committee said: “It was great to see the look of pleasure on the faces of the children as they enjoyed the equipment and we are delighted to be able to help.”
