AN elderly man was airlifted to hospital after falling off his mobility scooter near Swanage yesterday.
The coastguard was launched to assist the man following the incident near the road at Peveril Point.
South Western Ambulance Service contacted the coastguard at 7.55pm with a request to help the 94-year-old man.
A spokesperson for the coastguard said that the call was made due to the man’s age, the fact that he had been outside for a long period of time and ambulance staff were concerned that man may have suffered neck injuries.
The man was flown to Southampton General Hospital following the fall.
