A FOOTBALLER'S bid for world record glory has been postponed by poor weather.

Swanage Town & Herston striker Graeme Rose has hit four hat-tricks in a row, equalling the current world record set by former Japan international Masashi Nakayama in 1998.

The 29-year-old had hoped to top that record in the side's Dorset Premier League game against Cranborne this afternoon, but like many matches across the county, the game was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.

"It is frustrating for everyone really, we just want to play football," said Rose, who scored hat-tricks against Cranborne, Blandford United in the DPL Cup, Westland Sports and Bridport reserves before Christmas.

"But Mother Nature is having her say. You know this is coming at some point in the football year.

"Fingers crossed we have better weather next week."

Swans' next match is away to Shaftesbury next Saturday.
