POLICE, fire and ambulance were called to a crash on the A351 at Sandford.

Officers from Dorset Police were called to the crash between two vehicles at 3.11pm.

It took place between Holton Heath and the Bakers Arms roundabout.

The severity of any injuries is not known.

The road was closed by police but reopened at 4.55pm.

There are long delays, with traffic back to south side of Wareham and on the Upton Bypass.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service say they extricated two people from a vehicle.

A spokesperson from the service said: "We were called to a two-car collision in Sandford Road shortly after 3.30pm.

"Two crews from Poole and Wareham attended. 

"Two people were taken out of one of the vehicles involved and handed to the care of the ambulance service."

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Trust said: "We were called to Holton Heath at 3.20pm after a traffic collision, patients were treated on scene, and then taken onto Poole hospital for further treatment."
