VANDALS have damaged a life-saving defibrillator beyond repair.
The public access defibrillator at Wareham Quay was smashed and severely damaged last weekend.
The device, which was donated by Perenco Wytch Farm and the British Heart Foundation has had to be removed.
A spokesperson for Purbeck Police said: "During Saturday October 7 and overnight into Sunday October 8, the casing to a Public Access Defibrillator has been damaged beyond repair.
"This has now resulted in the device having to be removed and is now no longer accessible to the public. This could potentially put lives at risk."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
