A MAN who was arrested following reports of a stabbing in Wareham has been released under investigation.

At 8.23pm on Monday, September 18, 2017, officers were called to reports of a disturbance at an address in Brixey’s Lane.

A 41-year-old local man sustained stab wounds to his legs and was taken to hospital for treatment.

His injuries are not life-threatening.

Officers, including armed officers and the dog section, attended and carried out a search of the area.

A 27-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and has been released under investigation.

The injured man and arrested man are believed to be known to each other.

An investigation is underway and enquiries are continuing.
