A WOMAN was left with suspected fractures after a two-car collision in Purbeck on Saturday morning.

The incident took place on A351 between B3075 Corfe Road/Furzebrook Road and New Line, Wareham.

The road was down to one lane while police dealt with the incident, before briefly closing it in both directions to allow recovery work to be carried out.

The road was closed outside the Halfway inn.

A statement from Dorset Police said a Nissan 350z was travelling from Corfe towards Wareham when it was in a collision with a Vauxhall Corsa travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Corsa, a 62-year-old female from the Lytchett area, was taken to hospital with suspected fractures.

The driver of the Nissan, a 37-year-old male from the Corfe Castle area, was taken to hospital for a check up.

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses to contact PC Mark Palmer, quoting the reference 55170144477.

PC Mark Palmer, said: "I'm looking to hear from anybody who witnessed the collision or may have seen the driving of either vehicle prior to the collision."

Dorset Police received reports of the incident at 8.55am this morning.

Police left the scene at 10.51am after the road was reopened.

Ambulance services were also in attendance.
