POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to after a bike was stolen in Wareham.

At around 4.10pm on Friday, August 25, a black Carrello mountain bike with a blue bell was stolen from Greens Barn, the alleyway which runs between the Sainsbury’s supermarket and South Street.

Following investigations by local officers, CCTV footage was obtained that appeared to show a man getting on the bike and riding off toward South Street.

Police Constable Roan Doyle, of Purbeck police, said: “I am now issuing an image of the man taken from the CCTV in the hope that someone might recognise him.

“I would also appeal for any witnesses to the theft, or anyone who may have been offered a similar bike for sale in suspicious circumstances, to contact me.”
