Trains were stopped from travelling through the area while crews worked to extinguish the blaze. But everything was up and running again by 11.30am.
This is the second fire crews have been called to at the railway embankment in the last couple of weeks.
According to a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue spokesman the fires are caused by sparks from the steam train.
"Where it has been so hot and dry some of the sparks are catching light when they hit the ground," she added.
