A MOTHER who finished an emotional journey around the British coastline has said she was ‘completely overwhelmed’.

Natalia Spencer completed the final part of her 6,000 mile journey today.

She finished where she started, at the coast path at Durdle Door, which was the last beach she visited with her daughter.

Natalia’s daughter Elizabeth died aged just five after a relatively common virus which triggered a rare autoimmune condition.

She walked from Kimmeridge to Durdle Door, completing the journey. She set off on February 14 last year, six weeks after her daughter’s death.

It was an emotional day, with Natalia bursting in to tears as she arrived at Durdle Door.

Natalia, 41, said she is ‘completely overwhelmed’, adding: “It’s just a minefield of emotions.”

She was joined by scores of friends and supporters on the final leg of the journey, before arriving at Durdle Door.

Natalia, from Cheltenham, was met by even more friends and supporters at the end for a minute’s silence before three doves were released.

Her trek has raised almost £120,000 for the Bristol Children’s Hospital’s The Grand Appeal.

The money will provide vital equipment for the hospital’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

The walk has seen her go around the entire of the UK coastline to raise money for charity but also create a lasting memory for her daughter.

Speaking to the Echo at the end of the walk, she said: “I’m completely overwhelmed, it’s surreal.

“It’s a minefield of emotions. This is the last place we came. “I’m so pleased so many people made it and supported me on this journey. It’s all for her.”

Natalia has been named Endurance Fundraiser of the Year for 2016 by JustGiving.

Eric Brown, from Kent, is just one of the supporters who came to see her over the finish line.

He first met up with her when she trekked through Kent last year and put her up for three nights and now came to join her on the last leg yesterday. He described it as an incredible achievement.
