TWO fire engines were called to an embankment blaze near to the Swanage Railway earlier today.
The crews, from Swanage fire station, were called at 12.48pm to reports of a large fire along the railway embankment at Washpond Lane.
Firefighters used two hose reel jest to extinguish the blaze, which affected an area roughly 40 x 5 metres.
The road was closed between Darkie Lane and A351 High Street while crews dealt with the incident.
No-one was injured during the incident and the fire is not thought to have been started deliberately.
Crews left the scene around 1.45pm.
