POLICE were alerted to a bomb found at the Jurassic Coast this morning.
Officers were called to Kimmeridge after a person out walking discovered an unexploded device.
The area, at Swyer Head, was cordoned off by police while they waited for bomb disposal specialists.
While it was not believed to be near any spots popular with the public, residents were reminded to avoid the area.
Coastguard teams from St Alban’s and Kimmeridge were sent to the scene to assist explosive ordnance disposal technicians.
The bomb - which when found was under water - was located and disposed of at around 5pm.
