Beachgoers confused by 'killer whale' rescue
MEMBERS of the public walking along Studland beach on Saturday were surprised to come across volunteers appearing to rescue a killer whale.
Closer inspection soon revealed this was a training exercise being carried out by a team from the British Divers Marine Life Rescue - and the whale was an inflatable one.
A spokesperson for Swanage Coastguard, which was present at the exercise, said "despite this, many people thought it was real".
