PHOTOGRAPHER Andy Lyons was looking for a twist on a popular subject when he set up this picture of Swanage's famous old pier.
The 42-year-old lifeboatman, who lives in the town, set out to capture the landmark lit by the setting sun.
"It is quite a classic composition, the old pier, and I wanted to do my own twist on it with the sun set," he said.
"It was quite breezy and the light was just catching on the clouds. It was about a three minute exposure. I wanted to capture it with that light before the summer comes."
Some of Mr Lyons' pictures are currently on display at Holme for Gardens garden centre in Wareham as part of an exhibition on local artists which runs throughout April.
"The Jurassic Coast is the best bit of coastline in the country for photographers, in my opinion," he added.
"Landscapes and seascapes are my main thing, I want to promote pride in Swanage, Purbeck and the wider Dorset area.
