Joints of meat and knives were taken in a burglary at a farm.
Police are investigating the incident at Fossil Farm off the A352 at Winfrith.
Thieves broke into the steel butcher unit, stealing a large amount of meat, including beef, lamb and gammon joints, as well as a large quantity of specialist knives.
The incident took place between 8pm on Thursday January 21 and 5am on Friday January 22.
PC Ian Everton, of Purbeck police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious individuals or vehicles in the area of the A352 between the relevant times to please call me.
“I am also keen to hear from anyone who has seen or heard of beef, lamb or gammon joints being sold in suspicious circumstances.”
Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 22:33 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
