Thieves stole power tools and hand tools from contractors working on the A31.

Police say that between 4am on January 23 and 8pm on January 25, thieves forced their way into a storage unit in a layby off the A31 which is used by contractors working on repairs to the road overnight.

A number of power tools and hand tools were stolen.

Police Constable Julie Hankin, of Blandford police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously near the storage unit over the weekend to please call me on 101.

“I am also interested in hearing from anyone who has been offered power and hand tools for sale in the area in suspicious circumstances.”
