POLICE were called after a car left the A352 near Wool.

They were called shortly before 6.30am this morning to reports of a car coming off the road and going in to some trees.

Ambulance and fire both attended and police initially closed the road at the Wool roundabout to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.

A man was taken to Poole hospital but only to be treated for minor injuries.

It was initially believed that the driver was trapped in the vehicle but he did not have to be freed by emergency services.

The vehicle involved was a red Skoda Fabia registered to a man from Southampton.
