A MONSTER cycling event is taking place across Purbeck today, with over 2,000 cyclists getting involved.
The Wiggle Jurassic Beast cycling event will start and finish at Bovington Tank Museum and there are three different routes planned, including the ‘epic’ 101-mile ride.
Now in its sixth year, the Jurassic Beast is set along Dorset’s historic Jurassic coastline. The longest route heads north for a loop of the Dorset Downs, with cyclists enjoying panoramic views at Bulbarrow before heading down through the village of Milton Abbas.
The next longest route is 63 miles, followed by a 36 mile ride. Both will take riders to Swanage seafront along the route.
Purbeck police advise motorists in the area to allow extra time for their journey. For more information on the event visit ukcyclingevents.co.uk/events.
