FOUR people have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to a man in Swanage on Saturday night.

Police were called to Townsend Road in the town at 11.36pm on Saturday, April 11, where they discovered a man had sustained injuries to his hand.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "A 34-year-old man from Poole was taken by ambulance to Poole Hospital for treatment to a hand injury.

"Two men aged 20 and 36 and a 44-year-old woman, all from Swanage, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

"A 23-year-old man from Swanage was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

"They have all been released on police bail until mid-May pending further enquiries.

"Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 11:452."

It is believed there had been a disturbance at the address for some time before police were called.

A spokesperson from the South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called by police at 11.45pm to reports of a male casualty who had sustained a hand injury.

"Police officers were at the scene at the time the call was made.

"However, officers took the man to hospital, and paramedics were not needed to attend."
