THE greatest tent on earth is sure to be a crowd pleaser at Camp Bestival with gorilla gardening, duck in a truck and the BRIT School.

The latest announcement from the Dorset festival organisers adds to an already jam-packed line up including Bob Geldof, Mr Tumble, Dick and Dom and Underworld.

Held in the grounds of Lulworth Castle between July 30 and August 2, the theme of this year’s event is Camp Bestival goes Wild- it’s about getting back to nature and enjoying the simple pleasures in life like camping out under the stars.

The line up for the Greatest Tent on Earth has been announced and will include a festival premier of Julia Donaldson’s Scarecrows’ Wedding. Hosted by Arielle Free the tent will also showcase the dance skills of the Freestyle Funk Forum, rhyme and repetition from Duck in a Truck, songs, puppetry and wildness with circus show The King of Tiny Things, a specially themed show from the BRIT School, adventures with the Misunderstood Monsters and tales of undercover floriculture with Gorilla Gardening. There will also be shows from The Party, the marvellous Marawa the Amazing, West End Kids, Hype and Pavilion Danceathon, and Romeo and Juliet: Retold.

In the Big Top there will be performances from the Royal Albert Hall presents Albert's Band tune-based high jinks with Musical Bingo, karaoke with a gospel choir from Gospeloke, the Funky Little Choir, and steelpan brilliance from Steelers.

Organiser Rob da Bank says: “Camp Bestival’s creative team have outdone themselves once again with an absolute truckload of wild and wonderful fun for all the family. From the brand new adaptation of Julia Donaldson’s brilliant Scarecrows’ Wedding, and hip-hop’s answer to ‘Whose Line is it Anyway?’ with the Freestyle Funk Forum, to the hugely inspiring Gorilla Gardening and our old fave Marawa the Amazing, the Greatest Tent on Earth is certainly living up to its name.

“Add in Albert’s Band, Musical Bingo, Gospeloke and Morris Dancers, Blue Coats and the brilliant Insect Circus and you’ve got a recipe for a properly wild weekend! So we’ll be seeing you at Lulworth Castle in July”.

Headliners have already been announced including Clean Bandit, Kaiser Chiefs Professor Green, Wretch 32 and Kate Tempest, as well as family favourites back by popular demand including the Insect Circus, theatre from the Marvellous Imaginary Menagerie, carnival parades, high energy Dance Workshops, Igor Rasputin’s Caravan of Lost Souls, the Blue Coats and Morris dancers.

Families will also have to keep their eyes peeled for The Gruffalo who will be out in the grounds hiding somewhere.
