THE deadline for housing list reregistration in Poole, Purbeck and North Dorset is on Tuesday.

Anyone waiting for council or housing association homes must re-register by this time, or face removal from the housing list.

This need to re-register, introduced by the authorities comprising the Dorset Choice Home Based Lettings Partnership, is being implemented by officials because the partnership has reviewed the way social housing will be allocated.

Borough of Poole portfolio holder for housing and housing advice, Cllr Karen Rampton, said: “These changes bring Poole’s scheme in line with national policy and will allow all councils within the partnership to help those with the highest levels of housing need.

“It is important that residents who wish to be considered for housing available on the Dorset Home Choice scheme re-register before the deadline.”

The new allocation policy, taking effect from December 17, means applicants must have a local connection to the authority area to join the register.

Residents who have queries, or need assistance with the reapplication process, should contact their local council.
