THE Swanage Lifeboat Station Appeal has been boosted by £1,000 following a donation made by South West Trains service.
Members of the Swanage RNLI were on-hand to receive the money from the train company by way of thanks to the support given by the Swanage Railway during their Diesel Weekend in May.
Earlier in the day, on Saturday, October 11, train-users had made the journey from London Waterloo to Swanage on what will become a regular route in the future, thanks to an agreement between Network Rail, Dorset County Council and Swanage Railway.
Angela Morris, Chairperson of Swanage Lifeboat Fundraisers, said "South West trains have been keen to support our local project in particular as the train line from Swanage to Wareham is soon to become a reality."
