POLICE are appealing for information after thousands of pounds and a large haul of cigarettes were stolen from a garage in Swanage this morning.
Officers say burglars gained entry to the Triangle Garage by removing the glass panel from a door and disabling the alarm.
Thavam Thavarajah, owner of petrol station, which is located on Victoria Avenue, said a large number of cigarettes worth around £6,000 and a safe containing approximately £4,000 in cash were stolen.

The force spokesman said: “The petrol station was entered via a glass panel that was removed from a door. The alarm and CCTV were disabled by the offenders.
“A quantity of cash and cigarettes have been stolen.”
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact Dorset Police by calling 101 quoting crime number C:14:D:42967.
