Suspicious vehicle to be taken away for further investigation after Turlin Moor evacuation

POLICE have withdrawn a cordon at Turlin Moor after people were evacuated from their homes today, due to a suspicious vehicle.

Patrolling police officers spotted the unoccupied blue Land Rover parked in Fitzworth Avenue at 10.16am and after inspecting it called in an explosive ordnance disposal unit.

The van is to be removed by the police for further investigation.
