TACO Bell is planning to open a restaurant at Tower Park in Poole.
If the council approves the plans, it would be the second branch of the Tex-Mex fast food chain to open in the town.
The proposed Taco Bell would take over the unit formerly occupied by Subway and create 16 jobs. The new restaurant would seat 23 people inside and 12 outside. The planned opening hours are 10.30am-11pm Monday to Sunday.
A planning application submitted by Strydom Greene Planning Limited states: “The proposal would greatly improve the appearance of the existing property which currently has a rundown feel.
“The proposed use would provide a wider choice than that existing for those wanting to eat at Tower Park having visited the cinema, Splashdown or one of the other leisure uses there. It would also attract customers in its own right, to the benefit of the existing leisure uses.”
