POOLE Lifeboat volunteers were called out on Monday night to a report of an upturned kayak.
The Inshore lifeboat was launched at 7.40pm before the crew made their way to Wood Bar Looe, an area of water and mudflats between Rockley and the Wareham Channel.
When volunteers arrived on the scene they discovered an 8ft blue upturned tender in the water which had appeared to have been set adrift and had no signs it had recently been used.
Volunteers righted the vessel and took it ashore to Lake Pier before it was passed into the care of Poole Coastguards.
The lifeboat was ready for service by 9.15pm.
