A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured in a hit and run in Poole today.

Police and paramedics were called to the traffic lights at the Hunger Hill roundabout shortly before 2.50pm after a collision between a red Ducati Panigale motorbike and a car.

The car – believed to be a silver Mercedes – failed to stop at the scene.

The casualty, a 37-year-old man from the Wareham area, was seriously hurt. He was rushed to Poole Hospital for treatment. Police say his condition is not life-threatening.

Sergeant Mark Scammell, of the traffic unit, called for anyone who saw the incident, or those who may have seen a silver Mercedes in the area at the time, to contact police

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area with dashcam fitted and may have captured all or part of the incident on camera," he said.
