A MAN has been banned from the Dolphin Centre for three years after admitting a string of sexual offences.

James Thompson, 25, has been placed on the sex offenders register for making offensive remarks to girls under the age of 16.

He initially pleaded not guilty to the offences, which occurred in October and November last year, however later changed his plea.

Thompson, of Hermitage Road, Poole, admitted three sexual offences relating to incidents in which he made slurs towards girls aged under 16 for his own gratification.

Two of these took place at the Dolphin Centre during the same week in October, while the other occurred at the Co-op convenience store on Ashley Road in November.

He also admitted causing two females and a juvenile female harassment, alarm or distress through the use of threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour at the Dolphin Centre in November.

Thompson was required to go on the sex offenders register for five years following the court case at Poole Magistrates Court on Monday.

A community order was made against Thompson whereby he must not enter or attend the Dolphin Centre for a period of three years.

A sexual harm prevention order was made on conviction for five years, detailing that Thompson must not contact or communicate with children aged under 18 alongside a range of other restrictions.

He is also not allowed to form a relationship with a female who has a child under 16 without informing the offender manager and he must not reside in any household with any children aged under 16 unless approved by social services and the offender manager for the same time period.

The offender must not approach any lone female other than it is inadvertent and not reasonably avoidable in the course of lawful daily life and he is not allowed to intentionally follow any females or groups of females.

The 25-year-old is barred from undertaking any activity paid, voluntary or recreational, which is likely to bring him into contact with anyone aged under 16.

Any device with access to the internet that he uses must have its internet history retained and any such device must be made available to police on inspection.

Thompson was also ordered to complete 180 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months and pay £200 compensation to each of his six victims as well as an £85 surcharge to fund victim services.

A custody picture was requested by the Daily Echo.
