A FAMILY has been given the chance to create "precious memories" on a dream trip to Disney World Florida thanks to the fundraising efforts of a group of friends.

Noah Stevenson, who has the rare genetic condition Pontocerebellar Hypoplasia, is set to travel to America with his family next year.

Noah's condition is life-limiting and he is not expected to live past childhood and as it is a progressive disease his family know they do not have long with him.

The four-year-old, who lives in Poole, is unable to eat, talk, sit unaided or walk, with minimal control over his arms and legs.

He takes around 22 medications a day and also suffers from heart condition Aortic Stenosis, epilepsy, obstructive sleep apnea and dystonia, which causes painful muscle spasms.

Noah's mum Danni Jones said they would not have been able to go away themselves such is the care her son needs.

"We would never have been able to go away if the guys hadn't done this for us," Danni said.

"We get to make precious memories that we wouldn't have been able to do as a family

"They do not realise how much they have made a difference to our lives - it is such a big opportunity to have."

The trip has been made possible after a group of runners who took part in the Bournemouth Marathon, along with a series of other fundraising events, collected £3,500.

The fundraising team, who call themselves the Jolly Boys, did not tell Noah's family they were fundraising for the trip, revealing the news at a special gathering after the marathon.

The group of friends, who went to school with Danni and Noah's dad Sam, worked with the Dorset Children's Foundation to organise the opportunity.

The family will be staying at Give Kids the World, which provide unique holidays to children with life- threatening illnesses.

The village is entirely wheelchair accessible and includes tickets to the Disney World Parks.

Danni said Noah, who is under the care of Julia's House Hospice and attends specialist school Langside, is unable to understand what is going on, but often has a smile on his face

"He knows no different, but he just gets on with it and makes the most out of life," Danni added.

"When we were told they had raised money for us to go to Florida it was a complete shock.

"We are so grateful to everyone who has allowed us to go on this incredible trip as a family."
