THEY may have been disappointed when McDonald’s closed its doors but the young people of Poole turned out in their hundreds to mark the opening of its replacement.
Toy shop The Entertainer unveiled its impressive selection of stock when doors were officially opened on Saturday.
Mascot Jack, a jack-in-the-box, welcomed visitors, as did enthusiastic staff and a balloon sculptor. The new shop has created nine new jobs and is the chain’s 138th UK store. The Entertainer prides itself on its hands-on approach with youngsters able to test the toys and see them in action.
Two youngsters from charity Merlin’s Magic Wand celebrated the opening by taking part in a trolley dash. The charity helps children with serious illness, disability and adversity.
Clare Simpson, store manager, said: “We are really excited about opening this new store.”
