THIS Chinook helicopter was snapped by Daily Echo reader Lee Saunders hovering near Hamworthy's Lake Pier.
The twin-engined heavy-lift helicopter, a favourite with armed services worldwide, was taking part in an exercise with soldiers from the nearby Royal Marines base at Hamworthy.
Chinooks from the RAF served throughout Iraq and Afghanistan, used in air assault missions, casualty evacuation and supplying troops in the field.
It is also a huge favourite with the Bournemouth Air Festival crowds.
