A MAN and a woman have been arrested after a spate of Lego thefts in Bournemouth and Poole.

Police were first called to the Smyths Toys Superstore in Mallard Road Retail Park, Bournemouth, at around 4.15pm on Wednesday, May 10 after two men and two women made off with £600-worth of Lego without paying.

Days later, on Monday, May 15, officers were called to the Tesco store in Tower Park, Poole after two women stole four boxes of Lego valued at £858. Police say the women may have been with two men.

Ten minutes later, at around 7.40pm, police received reports that four people had pushed three trolleys containing Lego out of the Toys R Us store in Nuffield Road without paying and made off in a Vauxhall Vectra.

The total value of the Lego was £1,363.85.

A 38-year-old Bournemouth man and an 38-year-old Southampton woman have been arrested on suspicion of theft. Both have now been released under investigation.

Active enquiries are ongoing to identify the further suspects.
