A DRUG runner who was driven from London to Poole to sell drugs has been jailed for nearly three years.
Ryan Grayston, 22, of St John's Park in Blackheath, London, was spotted acting suspiciously by police while selling drugs in Dorchester Road in Poole on June 3.
He was stopped and searched by officers who found him in possession of 55 wraps of cocaine and 49 wraps of heroin.
Altogether the drugs had a street value of around £1,000.
Bournemouth Crown Court heard that Grayston had been recruited as a "drug runner" while living in hostel accommodation in London after being released from prison last year.
Grayston said he agreed because the accommodation was "dire" and he had nowhere else to go.
The court heard that Grayston was selling the drugs for financial gain and was not addicted to heroin or cocaine - although he had been known to use £20 of cannabis a day.
On Friday (July7) Recorder James Watson QC sentenced Grayston to 34 months in prison.
