A MEETING is due to be held today to update those involved in the Save the Green Belt campaign in Poole.
Merley and Bearwood councillor Marion Pope will meet residents at Bearwood Community Centre at 10.30am to tell people about the Poole Local Plan and about planning applications for land south of Magna Road.
Residents are campaigning against the possibility of building on green belt land as Poole struggles to find land to build a further 5,500 homes by 2023.
Local resident, Stephanie Thorne said: "We understand the need for affordable housing in Poole but not in areas where the local infrastructure, especially the roads are already working beyond capacity and public transport is not easily accessible.”
More than 600 people have signed an e-petition that opposes development on the green belt.
