A CCTV image has been released after a credit card was stolen from a man while he was in a gym in Poole.

The incident happened at DW Fitness Club at Redlands in November last year, but police have only just issued an image of a man they would like to speak to.

The victim was using the gym on Thursday, November 17, from around 6.30pm to 8.30pm and had left his wallet in a locker.

He did not notice his card was missing until the following day, when he was notified by his bank that the card had been used in suspicious circumstances.

The card was used at 10am on Friday, November 18, at Mothercare in Poole to purchase £800 worth of gift cards.

The offender reportedly pulled the card out of the card reader to make the assistant think it was not working and signed for the transaction instead.

Police Constable John Upsher, of Poole police, said: “Following our investigations, we are now in a position to release a CCTV image of the man apparently using the card at the Mothercare store in Poole.

“I would appeal to anyone who recognises this man or who has any further information to please contact me.”
