THE latest Loungers eatery opened in Poole today.

The Delfino Lounge, which is located in Falkland Square - where Hollywood Movie Cells used to be - has undergone a £546,000 transformation.

The new eatery is a family-friendly venue with eclectic art work including a huge dolphin back bar mural, quirky objects, vintage sofas and old school benches all in the usual Lounger style.

And particular attention has been paid to families, with a selection of games and books, colouring pencils and pads, and a full menu just for children.

Alex Kreutz, operations manager for Loungers, said: “We’re already pretty well established in the area.

“Locals will probably have visited other Lounges in the family - Circo Lounge, Conto Lounge, Ludo Lounge and Cosy Club in Bournemouth and Arcado Lounge in Christchurch so we’re excited about bringing our unique style of lounging to Poole.”

According to restaurant manager Lina Steyn said the eatery offered a "relaxed atmosphere" for all types of customer.

"So far we have had really good feedback from customers and we know people are excited to have us here in Poole," she added.

There is also a big emphasis on being part of the wider community - with a community notice board available for those wanting to publicise events and a book swap area is kept well stocked.

The team will also be holding regular fundraising events as part of Loungers’ commitment to making a difference in the community. It has chosen to support Julia’s House, donating 50 pence from every burger and 10 pence from every coffee sold in month one of trading.
