A SEARCH is on to find the owner of a budgie after it was found in the gutter of a house in Poole.

The bird is being cared for by veterinary surgeon Henry Feilden, of Poole Road Veterinary Surgery, while attempts are made to find its owner.

The budgie, which has light blue chest feathers, was found in the guttering of a porch way of a house in Surrey Road.

Henry said: “It is a friendly bird and is becoming more confident and spends a lot of time chirping.

“The practice has placed photographs on Facebook in an attempt to find an owner, which has had an amazing 4,800 hits. This might indicate that the owner is not on Facebook or, indeed, has no mobile phone.

“If anyone knows of someone who has a bird, or someone who lives alone and does not get out very much, please enquire locally. There could be a very happy person at the end of your phone call.”
