FIREFIGHTERS were called to Corfe Hills School on Friday morning.

Crews from Wimborne, Poole and Redhill Park were called to the school in Higher Blandford Road, at 10.40am.

According to a spokesman from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service a small fire was found in a downstairs toilet of the school.

The fire was extinguished and crews had left the scene by 11.20am.

Acting head teacher Phil Keen said the fire had already been extinguished by a member of staff.

“The fire brigade was called to check that it was safe for the students to return to the affected area of the building,” he added.

“I am delighted that students were exemplary in the way that they followed the evacuation procedure and their patience whilst the situation was resolved.”
